I thought they would be an overlay held on by 3M tape but I actually had to remove the original area on my truck mirror and these snapped easily and securely into the holes. I've had the tailgate handle cover, the door handle cover, and the half mirror overlay on my truck for 11 months now and have had NO problems with any of them.
